Laying dormant for a bit

Let me tell ya, life got busy and I let the blog kind of go away while I focused.  Regulations changed and the company I associate with wanted to make sure we were compliant with everything that we do.

WHY DID YOU START OILS?

You know... I've reflected back on this for a while now because you are either a believer or you're not.  There are some people who want to take pills for everything.  While I have had my share of taking medications and there's some that I still do have to take, I found that there were ways to help achieve a better well being.

I STRUGGLE bad with anxiety.  While it is unlikely I will ever let go of my meds any time soon, I at least use my oils to help supplement to the anxiety.  I have a calming blend and a grounding blend that I mix with FCO in order to help when I feel a surge of adrenaline.

While that is the main issue I struggle with, I also really have a hard time with allergies, sinuses, and headaches when there are allergens, pollens and junk in the air....
I never have taken medication really for allergies though sometimes my sinuses have been so awful, I have had to grab meds for those... However, instead of those being my GO-TO... they're now my BACK UP plan.
Instead of over-the-counter meds for PMS (massive cramps in the abdomen and back) or headaches, I really do use nothing but oils.  IF and only IF it gets really bad, then I grab the OTC bottle but I will use those oils first and they DO make a huge improvement.

The amazing thing about oils is that they permeate through the skin and enter the bloodstream fast.  Relief... AHHH!!! And no, you don't smell like a hippie.

If I don't feel like washing my hair, a little bit of wild orange and voile! It smells clean anyway!

I diffuse quite a bit.... and there is something about my house that I really like the fresh smell of something....
There is no need to light a candle and have those toxins in the air... The wax tarts, though I love them, are either really strong or really weak and with oils, I can actually control a scent within my house.
I got aggravated recently with someone because they told me that I must be dabbling in fragrance oils.  NO, they are not for the SMELL.
I use oils for their benefits.... NOT the smell. The smell is just an added bonus because many of them are divine.

Do you realize that people who practiced ancient medicine utilized plants?  WELL.. hello!  That's what this is!  The oils are derived from plants and those awful side effects that you see about those drugs that we subject ourselves to always seem to outweigh the benefits.  I've never had a negative reaction to using oils.  I'm saying this for myself personally.  (Some people who have severe medical conditions or are pregnant or nursing should consult with a physician before utilizing oils).
I have yet to read about a lawsuit involving essential oils that were certified therapeutic grade.

OK-- so back to WHY I use oils... or started to... I wanted a little more freedom... I wanted to try to take over MY own health.  I wanted to try to eliminate any potential germs from my house with the protective blend (including the cleaning spray and the amazing all natural whitening toothpaste).
I didn't get into oils to join some said pyramid scheme.  I did know that many of those were some of the BEST and truly do stand behind their products.  I didn't get into these to sell oils.  I simply got into them because they made me feel better and I was so excited that I wanted to share the benefits.

Now, it has been tough to make people feel enthusiastic about the benefits that I see because they haven't seen them.  If people would simply ask, I have provided them with answers.  I leave no stone unturned when I conduct research.  It's my type A personality.
Note that I'm also cynical so to get me to "fall" into a said pyramid scheme was absurd.  I joined my company because of the benefits that I was feeling and the enthusiasm I had about the oils I was using.
I won't sell you oils.  I won't even sell you on the idea of oils.  The oils sell themselves after people start to see the benefits and give them a fair chance.  That's how I did was and I use oils all the time.

I love to try the new products and some that I have tried, I have been beyond impressed with.  Stuffy nose?  No problem....
My biggest skeptics?  My parents...
And guess who always asks me if they can use some of my oils or have asked for oils of their own?  My parents...

Anyway, it's not just health benefits either... You know those wretched Japanese beetles (often mistaken as lady bugs)?  Diffused wild orange in my petal diffuser right where they seemed to be thick in my house.... After two rounds of four hour diffusing, they were gone.   Not harmed.... But they don't like the smell... No need for harsh pesticides.  Plus, my house smelled like dreamcicles.  Did it at my parents' house... Even though a few of the little lady bug look-alikes came back, it took several days and now all it takes is a little diffusing and I literally poof the away.

You don't have to be a slave to man made products that have harsh chemicals or could cause bad reactions.  Take control of your life and even if you have to surrender occasionally to your prescriptions or OTC, use them as your BACK UP.  I guarantee that I have saved quite a few dollars in doctor co-pays because I read my information and used my oils instead.

THAT, my friends, who are interested in essential oils, is WHY I GOT INTO ESSENTIAL OILS.

Now, I have the pleasure of saying, "I have an oil for that," for several things that I face or my family faces.  For the nay-sayers, it's OK.  You have your route, I have my safer one.  I won't convince you but you probably wouldn't be reading this unless you weren't just a little bit curious, would you?
